pottery update
It's quarter four & i dont have anything new. I made a coffee cup, which was a big step for me, since i never seem to be able to, but, it also fell off my bat as i was putting it away & it broke. i havent been producing much & the stuff i do produce dosnt seem to be what i want. I haven been trying to get my twelve inch cilinder & i think im getting really close. I am currently working on contain/ pour & i want to do a pitcher, cup set. I want to contain drinks, tea, specificially. I love tea & i drink it all the time. There is a glass at my house that eveyone loves, itsjusta tall cylinder basicially. Tall, round, elegante & yet sturdy. I am really interested in surface & would love to start working on slip trailing, decals & silk screening. When i make things, i try & make something that would make people stop & want to hold it & feel it. I like the lookof old & elegante, but i also really like modern & chic.
here are some inspirations i have found:
Her work makes me feel calm. I love the color glaze she uses & her work flows so well. It reminds me of the ocean & the ocean is my favorite place.
I like his tumbler because of the form & the texture. His form is similar to mine when i make tumblers & i like the oriental look me puts in his work. His pitcher is just beautiful, he uses decals amazingly & the form is just, gha, awsome.
For now, this is all that i have, but, i did my blog, so yay for me! im really hoping i can produce more work & get my cilinders so i can start throwing in b-mix!
thats all for now.
love, megan.

Year of the Dog
This is my dog. I did a dog because i was born in 94 so it is year of the dog. I put a porclin slip on the the out side to give it texture & make it look fuzzy. I then painted it black & dry brushed it going from a dark gray to white.
Fortune Cookies
These are my three fortune cookies. The top one is the last one i made & it is out of recycled soldate & it will be dry brushed, the one in the middle is made out of porclin & glazed with yellow celodon, it hasnt been fired yet though. The last one is made out of b-mix. I plan to us a shino on it. In my fortune i put in that i want to burn all negativity out of my life.
